Leland Sklar cover Bryndle

OMG!

I have always idolized Leland Sklar, from the very first time I played with him on my debut album for Warner Brothers in 1973. And then, crossing paths with him in the intervening years until we recorded Bryndle in 1995. Even after that wonderful experience, I was in awe and of course totally intimidated.

I am blown away!!I had no idea Leland felt the way he does about Bryndle and he mirrors both my sorrow and my ongoing amazement at the things we did.

This band is my great inspiration and my great tragedy as I was unable to get us back into the studio for one last time, but I’m always grateful they let me push them as much as I did. It was such an honor to work with Kenny, Andrew, and Karla, my true musical siblings—and in this case, Leland and the wonderful Eddie Bayers with whom I had done many projects in Nashville including the New Grass Revival album.

I read Leland’s posts every day, (when he’s not in FB jail:) and I feel like I’ve come to know him better, and I admire him all the more as he is not only one of the truly great musicians out of our golden era of pop music, but a stellar, brilliant, sweet and insightful person. I am deeply honored and totally stunned at his lovely post. OK, enough gushing.

There's Water For You - Mietek Szczesniak, HB Barnum, Life Choir, Wendy Waldman

A chance meeting. A pairing of unlikely friends. A collaboration now so obviously natural, as though they’d always been together: Poland's superstar vocalist/icon Mietek Szcześniak; legendary arranger/songwriter/producer HB Barnum (and his group Life Choir); and platinum songwriter/vocalist/producer Wendy Waldman have all come together to create a collaboration celebrating music without boundaries - not age, nor distance, nor genre - and deep friendship without borders. “There’s Water For You” is the lead single from the collective's forthcoming album project.
